Citirine

Oh Happy Day–its Friday. It was a short week for me so I really can’t complain. The weather here in Atlanta has been pretty good to me lately, but of course the forecast calls for rain and highs in the 40s today (insert my tears here lol). All is not lost because I got to frolic in the sunshine just long enough to snap a few great shoots.

I’m currently in the process of adding more single sole pumps to my wardrobe. I thought I would love platforms forever, but I think I’m slowly begininng to change my mind–thank you Kerry Washington lol.

Like I said before, I love a good surprise detail

For me its all about transitional style. In a days time: I can go to work, go to class (sewing or my young leaders program), handle things for reINVENT and/or to a networking event all in one day. My plate is really tight lately so I don’t really have the time or energy to do a full wardrobe change all the time. Many of the events and meetings I attend outside of work involve some sort of photography and video so its important that I’m able to still pull off a look appropriate for the occasion. My secret to the madness: I typically wear separates on days that require me to do a quick change. Why, because it so easy for me to run to car and do a quick switcheroo to transform my look from day to night. If your like me and have to be quick on your feet I would suggest you add a great separates to your closet :)

News Flash:: So as of late I have been kind of addicted to Eboni (The Fashionista Next Door–Style Me Friday Post) I haven’t been up on my blog reading this week so I didn’t get to see the inspiration until today, as luck would have this week was all about a POP of COLOR how crazy is that. If you haven’t started participating in the all the fun. I encourage you to just try it out, you get to see other people’s take on your look and in a way it forces you to shop your closet (which in the long run will save you some money honey lol). Anywho just thought I’d give you a heads up.

Until we meet again on the Parkway,

Alaina B.

    • LMBOOOOOO I literally spit out all my water reading this… Gotta love the support. Best photographer ever :)

  1. This look is gorgeous and sophisticated-cool from head to toe… I want that coat! Also, like you, I adore “surprise details” on clothing and what I call “happy linings” on coats/blazers. Just an extra little something to smile about :-)

    • Thank exactly the look I was going for. Isn’t it just great to just have those details that make the whole outfit that much greater :) .
